NAGURI CHEST OF DRAWERS

MATERIAL: CHERRY AND MAPLE

Inspired by the Naguri pattern which originates from when japanese craftspeople would carve it into freshly felled trees before they were transported out of the mountains. They would cut off the bark and sapwood which prevents bugs from getting to the wood. The random pattern this leaved later got used for decorative purposes.

Carved by hand with a #pfeil 5-60 gouge.
Each drawer can fit an A3 piece of paper.
